We caught up with Jordan Emanuel, a poised, well-versed and educated woman with a very impressive CV, holding titles such as Playboy’s 2019 Playmate of the Year and Miss Black America New York. She is the co-founder of Women With Voices and also the creator of swimwear brand 844SWIM.
My car of choice
I love my car, it’s a black on black Lexus RX 350 F Sport and her name is Blade, however, if I could afford my dream car it would be a white Rolls Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe.
My favourite holiday destination
I don’t think I’ve been there yet, but I imagine it will be somewhere tropical with amazing food and frozen beverages. I’m dying to go to Greece, Turkey, and Portugal and since I have a big birthday this year, which is Christmas, I may have to check one off my list as a gift to myself.
My gadget I can’t live without
It’s a tough call between my television and my phone, but seeing as though I can watch all the shows I like on my phone I will say I can’t live without my iPhone.
My go-to fashion brand
I wouldn’t say I have just one go-to fashion brand, but I practically live in anything from Revolve or Aritzia. Both brands suit my casual moments with great sweats and sweaters, but also when I need to dress up there are great shoes and gowns to choose from.
My airline of choice
It depends on where I’m going honestly, but nationally speaking Delta or American gives me the least problems and internationally I would say Virgin Atlantic Airways is my go-to pick.
My favourite watch brand
I’m not a watch person as I don’t like the feeling of anything on my wrists, but I loved the white Toy Watch my father gave me for my 18th birthday.
My favourite restaurant
I love Rod’s Steak and Seafood Grille in Morristown, New Jersey. It’s got this amazing vintage vibe and actually has a few train cars attached to the restaurant that you can dine privately in. My parents would take me there for special occasions because I’m a hardcore steak snd potatoes girl.
My guilty pleasure
I admit I love TV, so binge-watching TV for hours at a time is definitely my guilty pleasure. I just finished watching the Hulu/FX series, A Teacher in two days and have yet to recover and fully unpack all that that show had in it, it’s been awhile since a show made me feel anything, let alone this level of disturbed.
My favourite way to give back
Through the women’s nonprofit I co-founded, Women With Voices. My specific areas of focus are mental health awareness and helping people find coping mechanisms that work for them and sexual education and liberation to help women feel comfortable in their own skin and bodies.
