We caught up with Olivia Cox, a London-based TV/radio presenter and leading lifestyle influencer.
The ex-army officer has worked with iconic global brands from Dior to Hermes and is also a regular at London Fashion Week. Olivia, a Marie Claire beauty writer, is a Level 3 qualified PT and nutrition coach, she enjoys skiing, sailing and making lists about her favourite things.
My car of choice
Despite starting my television career as a motorsport presenter, I actually cannot drive. That said, some of my favourite experiences involve passengering a car that goes 0-60 frighteningly fast. I did the hill climb at Goodwood Festival of Speed in a Polestar, and took-on Potimao’s historic circuit in a vintage GT40. And if I could drive, I would be nipping around London in a G-Wagon.
My favourite holiday destination
The Greek islands will always hold a special place in my heart. Diving off the back of the sunseeker into clear waters, enjoying the crew’s freshly-caught fish on the deck, racing into the sunset on jet skis or getting picked up by tender to hit the day-beds at Nammos, Mykonos – heaven.
My go to fashion brand
Circa 90% of my life is spent in athleisure, so I love brands that fuse aesthetics with performance – Lululemon, Lorna Jane et al. For premieres and dinners, I usually pick a Self-Portrait dress, or stand-out Zimmerman piece paired with a Club Monaco staple. I also love Isabel Marant for their tailored shorts and cute co-ords.
My airline of choice
No contest: I love Emirates. Their economy class rivals BA’s premium cabins, and their customer service is second to none. Their executive lounge at Dubai is really something to behold – just about every cuisine you could imagine scattered around a well-designed space. There’s even an old-school ice-cream stand. Love.
My favourite watch brand
It won’t surprise you to know that I wear a Fitbit – the latest Sense model has innovative sensors to track health and wellness metrics, and is my best tip for staying accountable in your training. For more formal events, I switch between a classic leather strap Longines and my Hublot.
My favourite restaurant
I like a restaurant to come with an experience attached, so love places like Sushi Sambi on Heron Tower’s 37th floor. Amazonico is always great for people watching, and Ruya Mayfair has just the right amount of Art Deco opulence to keep me entertained.
My guilty pleasure
Probably not something I should admit, but my favourite way to wind down is watching Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares nestled in my MiHIGH sauna blanket, with a tub of really tacky ice cream and a spoon. It’s the perfect antidote to a busy week and keeps my feet on the ground on the champagne circuit.
My favourite way to give back
I ran the London Marathon in 2012 for Help 4 Heroes, and continue to support charities who help servicepeople and veterans. They’re a vulnerable category, often over-looked because of their training and strong façade.
