We caught up with Rachel Watkyn, the multi-award winning entrepreneur who set up Tiny Box Company, the UK’s largest online gift packaging e-commerce company.
Building her luxury company from scratch, Rachel’s empire now offers over 700 different products, supplying her service to more than 100,000 customers globally. Taking her vision to Dragons’ Den, Rachel is also famed as the show’s most successful female entrepreneur and has been awarded multiple awards for her business successes.
She has also launched Know the Origin, a digital platform that allows consumers to purchase sustainable versions of their every-day household products, beauty essentials and gifts.
My car of choice
I would love to say a soft top Tesla, but that doesn’t exist yet (I’m looking at you, Elon), so I’m going with the EEK (the loving nickname we’ve given my hybrid electric Evoke).
My favourite holiday destination
Anywhere with a daily low temperature of 30 degrees. Give me sun, give me heat, give me an ice-cold drink, and I’m happy!
My gadget I can’t live without
My Apple Watch. It tells me when to breathe, when to wake up and if I’m even still alive. The only way it could be improved was if it could make a good cuppa!
My go to fashion brand
Shameless plug incoming… Know The Origin is my first choice. Eco-friendly, ethical and stylish!
My airline of choice
My husband worked for British Airways for 27 years, so we get free and discounted flights through them all over the world. I’ve got to choose them!
My favourite watch brand
Apple. Admittedly, I’m a bit difficult to keep track of so it links to my phone and walkie talkie allows my assistant to find me anytime, anywhere.
My favourite restaurant
The Stonecross Café – right in my kitchen! They do an excellent roast but generally opening hours revolve around my eating habits. I have a seafood allergy, so I have a hard time finding restaurants that cater to me. My husband has perfected a menu, suited entirely to me!
My guilty pleasure
That isn’t suitable for publication, but my second guilty pleasure is chocolate. Most people think in terms of monetary value – I think about value in relation to chocolate. “Getting a new car would cost me way too many chocolates. I’m not sure it’s worth it.”
My favourite way to give back
Inviting everyone I know to a Tiny Clinic – they’re free! Available at www…. Don’t worry, I won’t add the link to register… unless you want it…
