Though the world may be closed for tourism right now, with the ComeBackLater campaign rightfully asking visitors not to travel to popular tourist spots during this time to ease pressure on local services, it shouldn’t mean that you can’t dream about your next UK staycation.
Many people had holidays booked, both abroad and on home turf, and it’s a shame that those much looked forward to trips can’t be fulfilled right now, but it should be the case that those holidays can be moved and enjoyed at a later date, and we’re staying at home for the right reasons, after all.
While at home we crave a little escapism from the new norm, whether it’s reading great travel content online or planning a trip away when all of this is over. You may be looking to escape a busy city or craving a change of scenery and breathing in some fresh air in one of the UK’s top beauty spots, of which there are many. The Lake District offers up breath-taking scenery and allows you to truly relax and reflect, whether you are hiking the hills or chilling in a cosy cottage with a book.
Read on for our five favourite Lake District cottages for any type of trip to inspire you during these limiting times, one can dream after all.
