New research has revealed the world’s most expensive Airbnb, with a single night’s stay costing more than the UK’s average annual salary.
Comparison site Casino Bee compiled a list of the world’s most expensive luxury listings on the vacation website Airbnb, to find the one that costs the most money per night. The most expensive stay in the world is Casa Tau in Punta Mita, Mexico, which costs a staggering £27,599 per night – or £193,197 for the entire week.

Casa Tau is located on the southwest coast of Mexico and boasts twelve en-suite bedrooms and accommodates up to 27 holidaymakers, with visitors having access to their own private spa and gym within the property. The villa also offers its residents service from eight housekeeping staff, two chefs, five cooks and eight butlers – who are available on-demand 24 hours a day.
Some may recognise Casa Tau as the home to season one’s cast of Netflix reality dating show, Too Hot To Handle. The programme saw singles cast away to the villa in Mexico, where they were told to remain celibate for the chance to win a $100,000 prize.
The second most expensive Airbnb, La Datcha, can also be found in Mexico and requires its guests to travel to Cabo San Lucas in Baja California Sur. To stay here will cost you a cool £26,388 per night, or £184,719 for the entire week.

The villa accommodates up to 16 people and sits atop the white sands overlooking the Sea of Cortez. It offers similar luxuries to its more expensive rival, with ten bedrooms, an infinity pool, spa, sauna and is one of the few properties in the country that offers a minus ten-degree snow room.
The third most expensive Airbnb on the list is the Frostwood Gondola in Park City, Utah which costs £25,599 a night or £179,193 a week.
The Frostwood Gondola can be found in Park City, home of the Sundance Film Festival, and overlooks snow-topped mountains, offering one of the largest ski resorts in the United States. The property accommodates up to 16 people and offers six king-sized beds, nine bathrooms, a heated hot tub and its very own mudroom.

The fourth and fifth most expensive Airbnb spots are Chalet Le Blanchot and Chalet Le Coquelicot both located in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, France, which can be rented for £24,457 and £23,644 per night respectively.
A spokesperson from Casino Bee commented on the findings: “The list revealed some beautiful and unique properties, that offer their guests the amenities and views to warrant the luxury price tag.
“At the top of the list, it is little wonder that Casa Tau was chosen by producers as the location for the first season of Too Hot to Handle. With year-round warm weather and its living space opening out onto white sands, the show’s stars were truly able to date in style.
“While these stays are well outside of the budget for the majority of people, it seems that some are willing to pay a lot of money to have the sand and snow right on their doorstep.”
