Location, location, location- something we all take into consideration when searching for a hotel that best meets our requirements. Whether it’s business or pleasure that brings you to Paris, Hotel Balmoral is exactly the type of place where guests can kick back and relax after a busy day’s work or sightseeing.
Located just a stone’s throw from the Arc de Triomphe and Champs-Élysées, the avid luxury shopper will enjoy hopping out of bed, taking breakfast in their room or in the dining area, and strolling the few minutes around the corner to Louis Vuitton, Cartier, or Hugo Boss. Those who spend their days drifting through meetings and business lunches will appreciate the hotel’s quiet location on Rue du Général Lanrezac, as well as access to free high-speed Wi-Fi and stash of complimentary Nespresso capsules for the espresso machine in their room.
However, what propels Hotel Balmoral straight to the forefront of top Paris hotels isn’t its location but rather the warmth and enthusiasm of its staff. Though impeccable service and hospitality are expected from any luxury hotel, the staff at Hotel Balmoral really do go above and beyond to ensure guests have a comfortable and pleasant stay. I’d arrived in Paris early in the morning from London and despite check-in being at 2 pm, I phoned hours beforehand to see if it was possible to leave my luggage with the reception to avoid being hampered (As I hit the stores to find a dress for dinner that evening, no less). Welcomed by the staff to make my way to the hotel, I was surprised and delighted to be escorted to my room, a suite on the sixth floor, where I was able to put my feet up and respond to some emails before ducking out again.
Again, Hotel Balmoral’s proximity to the Champs-Élysées made it a convenient base to return with both hands full of carrier bags. Leaving my shopping on the sofa in the living area of my suite, I took advantage of the few spare hours before meeting friends to get some work done, take a quick disco nap, and freshen up. The suite itself was bright and airy; featuring contemporary decor mixed in with luxurious antique furniture which created a refined yet inviting atmosphere. Tempted as I was to remain in my bath gown and slippers all evening, I knew I’d later return for a good night’s rest in the king size bed in the adjacent room.
The next morning, I opted for the buffet breakfast in the hotel’s dining area on the ground floor. Decorated in a quirky and colourful manner just like the hotel lobby and sitting area, I observed that in the morning, the atmosphere in the communal spaces was lively and brimming with businessmen, families, groups of friends. Stacking pastries and toast atop my plate before sitting down with a cup of green tea, I thoroughly enjoyed gearing up for a trip to the Catacombs of Paris, afternoon tea at Angelina, and visiting the Eiffel Tower. The hotel also offers a free bike rental service so guests can enjoy a leisurely ride through the city should they wish- my only regret is not having done so myself prior to leaving the next day!
Well equipped with amenities for work and play, guests can’t go wrong when reserving a room at Hotel Balmoral, particularly if they’re looking to achieve increased productivity or finding a welcoming Paris base for the duration of their trip.
