Situated only 12 minutes by car from Sharm El Sheikh International Airport, this is the ultimate fly-and-flop destination for those seeking some winter sun. With the flight time being over five hours from London, their staff will deliver the warmest of Egyptian welcomes to ensure you settle into holiday mode upon arrival.

This hotel was previously known as Magic World Sharm until May 2024, but the Jaz Hotel Group has since taken over seeing the potential of the property. They have undergone a detailed renovation programme for the newly renamed Iberotel Redsina and will continue to do so in the coming years, to turn it into one of the most desired five-star resorts in Sharm El Sheikh.

The warmest of Egyptian welcomes greets guests at this luxury hotel

The expansive Iberohotel Redsina at 94,500m² consists of 521 rooms spread across twelve three-storey buildings. This is the type of tranquil resort where you do not have to wake up at the crack of dawn to secure your poolside deckchair or dine at 6pm to secure the perfect al fresco dining seat.

The pièce de résistance of the hotel is its prime location at the heart of Nabq Bay. The enchanting coral reef is one of the best in the Red Sea. They have a purpose-built jetty, which leads out to the deeper part of the bay – there you can snorkel to your heart’s content and even swim with the local stingrays. It is also the perfect location to observe the sunrise and it is not unknown to observe a marriage proposal now and then.

Room

Bright and airy rooms and suites are decorated in soothing neutral colours

The bright and airy rooms are probably where the Jaz Hotel Group has invested most in terms of renovation works. They have numerous room categories such as superior rooms to executive suites and the clean, soothing designs put the guests at ease as soon as you step through the door.

The category I would recommend highly is their 13 swim-up rooms, where you can wake up in the morning and walk five steps to your inviting, refreshing pool. Whilst the pool is shared with a few other hotel guests, more often than not, you will probably find it ends up being your private pool. In addition, you have your balcony with sundeck chairs to soak up the Egyptian sun.

Irrespective of your room category, you will be welcomed with a fruit platter along with desserts. However, if you are staying at the higher category rooms or if you are a VIP, expect exotic fruit and dessert platters along with a bottle of red wine.

Food and drink

redsina food
Zaatar restaurant serves a menu of authentic Middle Eastern cuisine

There are an assortment of buffet offerings, a la carte restaurants, casual dining restaurants and popular bars here, so there is always something that will suit your mood. Waleema is the main dining restaurant where there’s a sizeable offering of hot and cold appetisers along with live cooking stations for main courses. They have a particular focus on local, Egyptian offerings as well as plant-based foods. Expect to see plenty of sweet potato offerings (Egypt is the leading exporter of sweet potatoes).

Their Street Side restaurant, which is closer to the beach, offers alfresco lunches that focus more on street food. Expect plenty of fresh salads, homemade burgers and pasta dishes. If you are looking for intimate, upscale dining, they have Zaatar for authentic Middle Eastern cuisine and The Oliviera for delectable Mediterranean cuisine. For the latter, the stand-out dish is the welcoming homemade bread, which was perfectly warm and fluffy and came with five different dips.

Spa and wellness

redsina spa
The tranquil spa offers a range of relaxing and rejuvenating treatments

The spa and wellness area is run by the experts at Mividaspa. Before any spa treatments, they will welcome you to their relaxation area, where you can enjoy well-deserved tranquillity in their Jacuzzi, sauna or steam rooms. The treatments are well-priced and include the classics from an anti-stress massage to a Swedish healing massage. The staff are always on hand to check your preferred firmness of the massage and whether you are looking for something relaxing or re-energising.

To do

redsina aqua park
The aqua park boasts six thrilling slides, making the hotel one of the most family-friendly resorts in Sharm El Sheikh

The stand-out offering at Iberotel Redsina is their aqua park. They’ve astutely built the water park away from the main site of the hotel, so any potential noises are barely audible from the hotel rooms. There are six thrilling slides, making the hotel one of the most family-friendly resorts in Sharm El Sheikh, although, you will not be surprised to find that adults participate on the entertaining slides almost as much as the children.

The hotel offers yoga classes in the morning as well as sunset yoga classes. There is a tennis court and a beach volleyball court and they have table tennis, archery, darts, shuffleboard and boccia. Whilst the hotel might be the perfect fly-and-flop destination, with countless activities daily, it is unlikely you will ever feel monotonous.
