My recent trip to Delhi on invite by Nitesh Gandhi-General Manager of the popular hotel JW Marriott New Delhi Aerocity was a memorable one in many ways.
This beautifully designed property is strategically connected owing to it’s superb location and houses 511 luxurious rooms and suites, 30000 sq ft of flexible convention space, an indulgent Quan spa, a fitness centre and a swimming pool along with some fabulous food and beverage outlets.
The hotel enjoys close proximity to Gurgaon and facilitates easy connectivity via the Delhi Metro and expressway. Gurgaon is an important financial centre for India in the north and multiple domestic and multinational companies have their operations located in this area. As far as frequent travellers like me are concerned, it’s really convenient that the hotel is just 7 minutes away from the airport.
On arrival I was welcomed by the Director of Operations Alok Kaul and the hotel’s marketing team. After a seamless check in experience, I was led to my luxury suite. Lunch was at K3, an expansive restaurant which serves a wide variety of cuisines where I was joined by Rohit Sharma and Rupinder Kaur from the marketing team.
In the evening after an interesting chat with General Manager Nitesh Gandhi, I proceeded towards the Quan Spa. The spa is operational 24 hours and offers a range of holistic treatments and therapies that provide instant relaxation to soothe the mind, body and soul.
Spa treatments such as Aromatherapy, Intensive Deep Tissue, Bespoke Skin Polish, Hot Stone therapy and Shirodhara ensure that there is a wide variety for everyone to choose from. After a relaxing massage it is a good idea to go for a warm bath in the Jacuzzi.
The Quan spa also offers yoga sessions by trained experts at the pool deck for yoga enthusiasts. With six therapy suites including an Ayurvedic and a couple treatment suite, this award winning spa is very popular with locals and tourists alike.
Styled with elegant sophistication, the hotel offers superlative comfort and personalized service. ” The hotel is a premier luxury destination in Aerocity that enfolds exceptional dining options, luxurious accommodation, grandest convention spaces and class-apart facilities situated at a prime location adjacent to Central Delhi and Gurgaon, conveniently located at a seven minutes drive from Airport 2, says Nitesh Gandhi, General Manager, JW Marriott New Delhi Aerocity.
While at the JW Marriott New Delhi Aerocity, one can choose from a wide array of several restaurants and lounges including K3 – New Delhi’s Food Theatre, the multi-cuisine restaurant with three open kitchens offering the best in Cantonese, Tuscan and North Indian cuisine; Akira Back, signature restaurant serving Japanese cuisine with a Korean essence; Playground, city’ most chic speakeasy, lounge and food truck experience; Delhi Baking Company, hotel’s patisserie and coffee shop; JW Lounge and Oval Bar which offers premium beverages, wines and spirits from around the world.
During my stay in the hotel, I experienced K3’s Sunday brunches that are very popular going by the busy restaurant; a live band enthralls guests with music and there are talented chefs whipping up delights at several counters spread out throughout the eatery.
I tried delicious duck rolls created by Sous Chef Sudheer Thakur and then enjoyed an intoxicating cocktail mixed up by Director of Food and Beverage Ramandeep Singh. On day two of my stay in the hotel, Sous Chef Kamal Sen created authentic Bengali cuisine for me at lunch on request.
Akira Back which is believed to be one of the best Japanese restaurants in India boasts a refined ambience with soft lights and is open for dinner. It is a good idea to try their cold tuna pizzas which are the most popular preparation on the menu. These delicious pizzas are light on the stomach and delight the palate at the same time.
The second must try preparation on the menu are the juicy and flavourful grilled lamb chops which are brought to the table on a rack with coals burning beneath.
Playground is a fun venue with bite sized food along with pulsating music and is frequented by the young and old for it’s playful vibe. There is an elegant speakeasy right behind Playground which serves as a perfect venue for a private event.
DBC (Delhi Baking Company) is just the perfect place to grab a cup of coffee or a luscious mango sorbet in a cheerful atmosphere. This is also a great place for a sandwich or a salad when you are in the mood for a light lunch. DBC offers a range of gourmet products in the retail section and I was presented with a lavish hamper by the hotel’s team before leaving as a parting gift.
The hotel’s Executive Lounge is extremely popular with guests during evening hours and it is a good idea to visit this venue for a glass of bubbly with starters. The JM Marriott New Delhi Aerocity also offers a unique outdoor catering facility called the JW Kitchens where memorable and unique events are created with exemplary service and various choices of food and beverage.
The hotel team aims at cultivating enriching experiences for guests by ensuring attention-to-detail, never-seen before setups and personalized menus customized as per a guest’s personal taste. The skillful team of Chefs creates authentic flavours by preparing appetizing meals.
In addition to preparing and presenting fine food and service, JW Kitchens take care of linen, glassware, chinaware, live kitchen and bar setups, floral arrangements, décor and more to help host an event that reflects your style.
Apart from serving the luxury business traveller as well as tourists, the hotel is a perfect venue for meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions. Located within driving distance of prominent business hubs in Delhi and Gurgaon and in close proximity to the airport, the hotel features one of the city’s largest meeting and conference facilities with over 24,000 sq. ft. of flexible convention spaces including a 12,000 sq. ft. pillar-less ballroom and a picturesque open-air courtyard.
On day four when it was time to leave, the gracious General Manager Nitesh Gandhi offered that I stay back for a couple of days more which came as a pleasant surprise to me. While leaving I had a seamless check in experience at the airport thanks to the hotel’s super efficient airport representative Sachin Sharma.
My work involves staying in hotels frequently and in my honest opinion this is one of the few hotels in India where each and every department makes sure that guests have a pleasant and memorable stay whether it is the front office team, or housekeeping, or marketing, or the kitchen team. The JW Marriott New Delhi Aerocity is definitely worth several visits owing to it’s warmth and hospitality!
