When I received an invite by Marketing & Communications Manager Sujata Gowda to visit the first dual branded property by Marriott in the country, the Courtyard by Marriott and Fairfield by Marriott, I was but naturally excited and curious at the same time. The property is located at Outer Ring Road, which is renowned as the commercial hub for Bengaluru’s leading IT companies. With the launch of this hotel, The Courtyard brand was introduced in Bengaluru for the first time, offering guests a refreshing ambiance that helps stay connected and productive while traveling. The Fairfield brand is an established leader in the moderate tier segment offering guests a seamless experience with well-designed rooms and great service at an exceptional value. The décor exudes warmth by showcasing local art and crafts and yet adheres to global norms, a great balance of technology and hospitality.
The entry of a dual branded property in Bengaluru has succeeded in meeting the increasing demands for business travelers in the region. It was fascinating to note that a lot of facilities offered are common for both the hotels and as one makes their way to the Fairfield property via the kitchen there is also a demarcation with arrows that point towards the left and the right signifying that one is standing right in the centre of both the hotels. Apart from the individual facilities offered by the two hotels, Courtyard by Marriott and Fairfield by Marriott together bring to guests amenities that include a luxurious Mediterranean restaurant called BG’s which offers a splendid ambience that features an indoor and outdoor setting and a magnificent spread of Mediterranean cuisine prepared by a specialty chef. Guests staying at both hotels also have access to a common Gymnasium / Fitness Center, meeting rooms, Scent Spa and swimming pool.
A relaxing session at the Scent Spa in the hotel is a great idea for those looking to rejuvenate. I tried the Aromatherapy massage which offers the healing powers of pure essential oils and their properties have an invigorating and soothing effect on the mind. Using classical techniques, light pressure is applied to improve the circulation and ease muscle aches for complete relaxation. The next massage I chose was the Hot Stones which is an ideal massage to melt away the tension from your body as this palm based massage blends seamlessly with the use of heated basalt stones. Golf enthusiasts will be delighted to see a well manicured mini gold course right at the entrance. A well equipped gym for regular workouts is also available for those who can’t afford to miss their exercise regimen.

The specialty restaurants at Courtyard by Marriott Bengaluru Outer Ring Road are MoMo Café, a chic all-day dining restaurant which is contemporary, warm, vibrant, welcoming and has a unique décor what with the dining area and the lounge seating separated by an attractive partition made up of Channapatna ninepin like toys. Manufactured in the town of Channapatna, a rural district of Karnataka, these toys are really unique and quite unlike anything I have ever seen. I was told that this fascinating craft is protected as a geographical indication under the world Trade Organization and is administered by the Karnataka Government. MoMo 2 Go offers ready to eat items, pastries and savories and the not to be missed oat muffins is a great place to relax; and the Lobby Bar is an ideal place to work during the day and enjoy post-work drinks with friends. Fairfield by Marriott Bengaluru Outer Ring Road comprises 169 guest rooms including 115 deluxe rooms and 54 deluxe pool view rooms. The specialty restaurant at Fairfield by Marriott is Kava an all-day dining restaurant that offers sumptuous Indian and International cuisine with a three-meal-a-day facility featuring both buffet and a la carte options. Those who prefer a drink can visit Kava the Bar, a modern mood bar and lounge that offers freshly brewed coffee in the day and interesting cocktails in the evening. The hotel is a great place for the tech savvy traveler as I experienced during my stay, I was able to keep up with my work in a chic ambience.
BG’s, the Mediterranean restaurant attached to the swimming pool is the perfect destination to unwind after a long day’s work, featuring modern interiors, refreshing cocktails and grills for the perfect experience. During the day the kitchen serves casual grill based foods. In the evening the pool bar transforms into an upscale bar and grill serving fresh local produce. While in BG’s it is a great idea to try the cocktails created by expert bartenders. The bar counter is subtly lit and draws attention to a large variety of international liquor one can choose one from. During one of my visits to this upscale restaurant, I interacted with the Executive Chef Pavan Kumar Chennam who suggested that I try starters like the signature Chilled BG Pizza, Rock Shrimp Tempura along with the fried olives. Most of the food served here is superlative and really innovative. As a writer, I am always looking to try something new and creative and the menu in BG’s scores in this area. The fact that this restaurant is next to a pool adds to it’s visual appeal, for those who prefer to sit indoors, a chic ambience awaits in the form of a bar.
The Courtyard by Marriott & Fairfield by Marriott – Outer Ring Road Benguluru has character inspite of being a dual business hotel and that’s what makes it stand apart from the rest. The warmth that I experienced during all my interactions with the hotel’s team only adds to the uniqueness and comfortable stay!
