All fourteen levels of the hotel murmur elegance and style with a dash of edgy, snappy chutzpa and buoyancy. The use of bony glass, regular marble, elaborate chandeliers, gold and diamonds, elegant furnishings, and other tailored design essentials form a mark design panache for the hotel.

Its meeting and conference chambers, outfitted with cutting-edge technology, accommodate gatherings of diverse dimensions. The hotel boasts a diverse collection of dining establishments, each an epicurean assemblage of its own. My gastronomic journey commenced at Jyran, the zenith of Indian gastronomy within the hotel’s aegis. Stepping into Jyran is akin to traversing a portal into a realm of rich, aromatic spices and palatal poetry. The menu, an opus of traditional Indian fare imbued with contemporary finesse, unveiled a mosaic of flavours. The buttery indulgence of dal makhani and the succulent murgh malai tikka stand as testament to this culinary reverie. In this sanctuary of elegance, service transcended mere obligation, rendering my dining experience truly unforgettable.
For aficionados of global flavours, Pondicherry beckons with an enticing embrace. This gastronomic all-day dining haven features an expansive buffet, offering a global symphony of flavours. The live cooking stations add a theatrical dimension to the dining experience, captivating both discerning palates and connoisseurs of culinary art. The freshest seafood selection and a decadent dessert tableau beckon discerning palates. Pondicherry is equally conducive to business luncheons and familial soirées.
Artisan, the veritable heart of Sofitel’s culinary repertoire, is a masterpiece. Its extensive menu unites international and local gastronomy, a harmonious symphony for discerning palates. Freshly baked bread and pastries, a signature offering, elevate breakfast or mid-day repasts to memorable culinary experiences.
Crafted for the discerning vegetarian diners, Tuskers is the only restaurant in India in a luxury hotel setting that has a separate independent kitchen to serve its guests the purest of vegetarian cuisines. The restaurant typically serves Gujarati and Rajasthan cuisines for lunch and dinner and a nutritious thali (platter) for lunch on weekdays, curated by a ‘Maharaj’ (master Indian chef). The restaurant design is inspired by colonial times, when elephants were abundant in India and occupied a space in our everyday lives.
Marvellously masculine, the dining bar interior is intended in a bold fashion using opulent warm leathers, walnut chesterfields, carpets, grill works, elephant motifs and plush wood. As the name suggests, the award-winning Tuskers is inspired by the regales of creatures, the merciful vegetarians – the elephants.
There cannot be a more serene hideaway than the Le Bar Diamantaire for a sundowner or a glass of wine over a meeting. Here, a grandiose floor to ceiling wine tower houses a range of over eight hundred international wines.
Spa and wellness
Following a day of engagements or exploration, Sofitel Hotel provides an oasis of reprieve. SoSPA, a temple of tranquillity, offers an array of rejuvenating treatments and therapies. I relinquished to their signature massage, a potion for the senses, rendering me entirely revitalised.
The fitness centre, replete with state-of-the-art equipment, caters to enthusiasts of well-being. The al fresco pool, a serene enclave, invites guests in for a relaxed swim or thoughtful relaxation by its waters, amidst green splendour.
