If you’re looking for a luxury five–star hotel in London then the upmarket district of Mayfair is pretty much the number one place to start your search. With the likes of Claridge’s, The Connaught and The Dorchester, Mayfair certainly boats some the capital’s most lavish and prestigious establishments.
And you can now add another hotel to that growing list of magnificent Mayfair offerings in the shape of the London Marriott Hotel Park Lane. This hotel has just completed an extensive renovation as part of its repositioning “to be the luxury hotel of choice in Mayfair”. The team at Luxury Lifestyle Magazine were fortunate enough to be shown around the hotel and see the improvements first hand and we can safely say that we were not left disappointed.
Housed within a Grade II listed property, London Marriott Hotel Park Lane certainly epitomises Mayfair elegance, with views over Hyde Park, opulent guestroom accommodation and luxurious public areas befitting of the prestigious address.
The interiors of London Marriott Hotel Park Lane were transformation by RPW Design, which extended to all 152 bedrooms, the introduction of five new suites and a redesign of the lobby, Executive Lounge and meeting rooms.
We had the opportunity to speak to Nicolas Kipper, the newly appointed General Manager, who was understandably delighted with the renovations.
He told us: “We aim to compete with the best hotels in London with an exclusive and unique Marriott offering. The new design, an increased suite count, an elevated service and an enhanced in-room offering, will make us even more appealing to the luxury market.”
The new layout of rooms include entrance lobbies and are decorated in soft shades of white, dove grey and lavender. Materials such as leather, silk, solid wood and bookmatched marble are used throughout.
During our visit to the hotel, we also spoke to RPW Design’s Managing Director, Jan Wilson, who said: “Our designs aim to bring out the English Heritage of the Francis Verity designed historic building extending its intimate feel and residential character into the hotel’s interior. The elegantly designed rooms and public spaces have all the facilities expected in a leading luxury hotel.”
Impeccable attention to detail of the hotel’s interior are matched with quintessentially British touches. A collection of British artwork features throughout the hotel and Royal Warrant holder suppliers include Floris bathroom amenities.
The guest experience has been elevated with the introduction of a signature arrival and bespoke personal service. Cutting edge technology will be offered with Apple products throughout, bluetooth LCD screen TVs and mobile check-in.
The transformation of the interiors follows the opening of Lanes of London restaurant at the hotel in January 2014. Lanes of London is a modern British eatery which offers a delicious seasonal menu, using locally sourced British rare-breed and wild food produce. Alongside a food menu that delivers great flavours, Lanes of London bar serves great wines, craft beers and excellent cocktails. Open for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner and late night drinks.
London Marriott Hotel Park Lane is a great choice for those who enjoy keeping fit and healthy whilst visiting the capital. The Club offers a serene retreat complete with steam room, state-of-the-art gym equipment and the only pool on Park Lane.
Prices start from £399. And more information on the hotel can be found at LondonMarriottParkLane.co.uk.
