Island Dining & Drinks
Copious amounts of food and drinks are synonymous with an island resort getaway and LUX* Belle Mare certainly delivers in this regard. There are a total of four restaurants, three bars and a café on the property for guests to choose from. MIXE is the main dining area that offers buffet-style meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The menu is extensive and covers dishes from cultures around the world served from live cooking stations. Beach Rouge has the prime spot right on the beach with stunning views of the ocean. This restaurant is open for lunch and then transforms completely at night when the Gin Bar opens.
Amari by Vineet is a new Indian cuisine restaurant with a Michelin star chef, Vineet Bhatia. Amari is a premium restaurant within the resort and meals are not included in the accommodation packages so charged separately. Duck Laundry is another premium restaurant which also requires a booking advance. Expect Chinese dishes featuring a lot of duck in a contemporary setting. In terms of drinks, guests can try a cocktail at K-Bar which is named after Kelly Hoppen. The ‘gastropub’ offers another unique LUX* first: a microbrewery and their exclusive range of craft beers on tap.
Another great option for sunset drinks is the Mari Kontan rum hut by the pool. Sample their wide selection of locally produced and delicious rums to learn more about Sugar Island. Those with a sweet tooth will also enjoy LUX* Ici stand which serves a large selection of ice-cream made on the property. Finally, at the entrance is the famed Café LUX* where guests can savour the specialty LUX* blends roasted on-site and made by skilled baristas.
