Starwood’s upmarket brand St. Regis Hotels & Resorts has expanded its presence in China with the opening of a new luxury hotel in Macau.
The St. Regis Macao, Cotai Central offers 400 guestrooms and suites, ranging from 53 to 477 square meters in size. St. Regis described the rooms as “lavishly appointed”.
The hotel, which commands views of the Cotai Strip, boasts a multi-experience dining venue, comprised of five distinctive offerings from cosmopolitan, high-end cuisine to a bistro-style indoor garden experience.
The establishment also houses a luxury spa with panoramic views over the Strip and an “expansive” outdoor swimming pool with 2,457 sqm of deck space.
“The St. Regis Macao marks the largest hotel in the brand’s portfolio and the property is ideally positioned within the coveted Cotai Strip, which offers a fully integrated resort destination, including premier shopping, dining and entertainment facilities,” St. Regis Hotels & Resorts said in a statement.
“The hotel serves as the ideal gateway to be immersed in Macau’s rich heritage and offers front row seats to exhilarating events such as the International Fireworks Competition and the Macau Grand Prix,” it added.
To further enhance the guest experience, The St. Regis Macao has also announced plans to offer a 24-hour butler service, which the company hopes will help to “customise each guest’s stay to their specific needs, tastes and preferences”.
The St. Regis Macao provides convenient access to more than 600 designer boutiques, award-winning gaming facilities, and an endless array of nightlife and culinary experiences, from authentic Macanese and Portuguese cuisine to an impressive line-up of Michelin-starred restaurants.
This luxury hotel features a number of refined venues, including the regal Astor Grand Ballroom, which seats 350 guests. In addition, five smaller meeting rooms with natural daylight through floor-to-ceiling windows, two boardrooms described as “stately”, and an exclusive VIP meeting room, cater to a range of private events.
The St. Regis Macao can also boast impressive transport links. Hong Kong International Airport can be reached in 60 minutes by ferry or in 15 minutes by helicopter, while Macau International Airport and the Taipa Ferry Terminal are less than 10 minutes away.
Macau has rapidly emerged as a sought-after destination, free from the hustle and bustle of major Asian cities. The city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site with more than 450 years of history and cultural exchange between China and Europe.
