Welcoming guests in December 2018 as one of the first hotels to re-open last winter, the exquisite Le Sereno St. Barth’s underwent a complete renovation.
Following damage caused by Hurricane Irma in September 2017, the Contreras family made the decision to rebuild the hotel to its former glory, as well as including several improvements.
In a bid to maintain the essence of the hotel and its iconic style, the original team, which created Le Sereno, came together once more to undertake the entire rebuild, thereby protecting the uniqueness that gave the hotel its popular following.
“After the passing of Hurricane Irma, we had the unique opportunity to completely reimagine the hotel, while still making it feel the same,” states Luis Contreras, owner of Sereno Hotels.
Contreras continues to explain how they have used more than ten years of experience operating the hotel to “implement state of the art technology while keeping all of what made Le Sereno so great. While the hotel is new, our loyal guests will feel that little has changed”.
Unsurprisingly, the newly reconstructed Le Sereno continues to beckon guests with its contemporary design and luxurious services. The location will also continue to entice visitors, as the hotel is based on the exclusive Grand Cul de Sac, which is well-known for its protected coral reefs and makes it the perfect location for kitesurfing, paddle boarding and snorkelling.
Known for its high standards and design-driven ethos, Sereno Hotels has taken this renovation as an opportunity to explore new ways of offering luxury and splendour to guests.
The managing director of Sereno Hotels, Samy Ghachem, stated how they “are thrilled and eager to welcome back familiar faces and new guests to Le Sereno, and we have been touched by the outpouring of support after Hurricane Irma”.
Le Sereno is an iconic hotel located on the ultra-private crystal-clear waters of the Grand Cul De Sac in St. Barths and has a devoted following amongst guests
He continued to say how “Le Sereno has always been known as the most stylish hotel in St. Barth, and we are pleased to raise the bar in the Caribbean yet again. Of course, our signature approach to relaxed luxury and attentive service will remain the same”.
Offering guests an array of opulent accommodation, the new Le Sereno hotel features an entire ‘Bungalow Piscine’ room category — perfectly large rooms for those wanting an extra sprinkle of extravagance.
These beachfront bungalows offer the perfect views as they overlook both the much-Instagrammed swimming pool and the iconic protected waters of the bay. The bungalows have been designed specifically to encapsulate the spirit of the island, and each one has been given a unique style to offer guests something special and memorable.
In a bid to integrate the luxurious interior space with the refreshing outdoor environments, the bungalow features a beautiful private landscaped garden and a shaded sitting area for guests to lounge on.
The intimate beachfront property has long beckoned travellers for its contemporary design and understated luxury service.
Whilst the rebuild will only add three rooms to the accommodation, other features include a brand new spa and fitness facility, offering exquisite treatments for those wanting to be mindful, and new on-site retail boutiques which offer guests curated finds from French and Italian brands, such as Larusmiani — perfect for those wanting to spend a little extra.
Guests will be given a chance to indulge in mouth-watering flavours, as the newly unveiled Restaurant Le Sereno offers a menu which focuses on Mediterranean dishes made with the freshest ingredients.
Considered to be ‘the central heartbeat’ of the hotel, guests will be able to enjoy 180-degree views of Grand Cul de Sac at the restaurant, as the updated design features an open-aired concept to take maximum advantage of the dramatic surroundings that are on offer — grab a refreshing cocktail, enjoy an exquisite meal and enjoy the serenity of the beachfront hotel.
This is a new era for Sereno Hotels, as they have come back bigger than ever after reimagining the famous and beloved hotel which was damaged two years ago.
While the design-driven hotel is new, loyal guests will feel that little has changed and will continue to enjoy Le Sereno’s signature approach to relaxed luxury and attentive service.
Taking into consideration the environmental impact that the hotel could potentially have, the Contreras family saw the rebuild as an opportunity to adapt by building with sustainably sourced wood and stone.
Adding solar panels, air conditioners with heat exchangers, and LED lighting was also significantly important in a bid to reduce the levels of energy consumption.
By reconstructing an environmentally-friendly hotel which is overflowing with elegance and grandeur, the exclusive Le Sereno St. Barth’s becomes the perfect location to visit and enjoy this year with friends and family — so what are you waiting for?
