Starwood Hotels and Resorts’ Luxury Collection brand will open its first hotel in the Japanese capital of Tokyo in July this year.
The Prince Gallery Tokyo Kioicho, which is owned by Prince Hotels, will be located in the heart of Tokyo’s Kioicho neighbourhood.
The location is close to Tokyo’s myriad attractions, including Shimizudani Park and Benkei Canal.
Access to the metro network will be conveniently offered from the nearby Akasaka Mitsuke station, which connects to the popular shopping and entertainment districts of Ginza, Shinjuku, Ikebukuro and Shibuya in around 20 minutes.
This will be the Luxury Collection’s second property in Japan, following the opening of Suiran in Kyoto in April 2015.
The 250-room hotel (including 11 luxury suites) will be housed within the mixed-use Tokyo Garden Terrace development, located on the 30th to 36th floors and featuring a lobby with panoramic views of the city.
The 35th floor will house a signature bar with two-story floor-to-ceiling glass windows for guests to enjoy the ever-changing cityscape.
The hotel will also boast more than 272 square meters of “state-of-the-art” function and meeting space, a large indoor pool, fitness centre, spa, business center and club lounge.
It will offer four distinctive restaurants and bars, including an all-day dining venue and specialty restaurants. Hotel guests will also have easy access to additional dining options located within Tokyo Garden Terrace, including a bistro-style French restaurant.
Shigeyoshi Akasaka, President of Prince Hotel said: “The demand for luxury hospitality continues to be on the rise in Japan, especially as Tokyo prepares to host the 2020 Summer Olympic Games and the Paralympics.”
