After a year of lockdown restrictions and months since we were last able to enjoy a good old-fashioned evening out, if you’re hankering to get dressed up for a night at the casino or jet off to a resort for a break in sunnier climes, then the chances are, you’re certainly not alone.

Online casino Lucky Nugget, which offers a sensational online experience and prides itself on ensuring its customers feel secure, has reported a sharp increase in those getting their practice in online since the Covid-19 pandemic began, with other online providers also experiencing an increase in popularity – but when will the glamorous bricks and mortar casinos we know and love be back in our weekly schedule?

Although most of our favourite high-rolling hotspots remain closed even at the moment, the good news is that there’s plenty going on behind the scenes to make the grand reopening of the world even more exciting. Countless new luxury casino resorts are set to open their doors for the first time this year, just in time for a return to relative normality. Some, in fact, have already cut their ribbons, and are just waiting to be allowed to welcome people in, which means there will be no shortage of new places to check out once travel is back on the agenda.

So, if you’re eager to place your bets at the roulette table or chase a big win on the slots, then look no further, because these places – handpicked by the experts at LuckyNugget Casino – are certain to be worth splashing out on.

Perhaps one of the most exciting new completions of the year so far, the Live! Casino and Hotel, Philadelphia can be found just inside the city’s entertainment district and, located within just six miles of Philadelphia International Airport, makes for easy access from just about anywhere.

Having already opened its doors to the public earlier this month, the $600 million establishment has already been gaining itself a reputation for glamour, serving up a whopping 208 rooms over 12 storeys and 510,000 square feet of floor space. This includes its sprawling casino, a six-room entertainment centre and several bars and dining options.

With over 2,100 gaming machines in its casino, plus 150 table games and a dedicated 29-table poker room, you will want to be one of the first to try it. Can’t travel yet? Get booking for later in the year now, as this place is certain to be popular.

City of Dreams Mediterranean Limassol, Cyprus – March 2021

Set to open its doors to the public in just a few short weeks, the City of Dreams Mediterranean, in sunny Cyprus, was pegged to be completed very soon, but construction of this impressive $617 million integrated casino resort was put on hold last year due to the Covid-19 pandemic, which may potentially delay its inauguration.

Although work resumed in May 2020, this colossal project certainly is no small feat, but situated on over 91 acres of land on the spectacular southern coast of Cyprus at Zazaki, Western Limassol, it’s guaranteed to be worth the wait.

Set to comprise a 16-storey hotel featuring 500 five-star guest rooms and a number of dining options and pools, details of the casino itself have been largely kept under wraps, but with all to be revealed soon, we’re hopeful of a summer gaming break in Cyprus.

Banyan Tree Lang Co. Resort Casino, Thua Thien Hue, Vietnam – November 2021

Asian borders may largely remain closed at the moment, but by November, things could be looking very different – which, with the opening of the Banyan Tree Lang Co. Casino Resort pegged for autumn, makes the prospect of a possible trip to Vietnam a tempting one.

We’ve known since 2015 that Hard Rock is working closely with Banyan Tree on the eye-watering $2 billion project, but currently, the casino is still pending regulatory approval. If all goes to plan though, then we’ll see phase one complete by the end of the year, with the 57-villa Banyan Tree resort sitting alongside the 229-room Ansana Resort, ten restaurants, two spas, a championship golf course, and a conference centre.

Inspire Integrated Resort, Incheon, South Korea – June 2022

Not feeling confident to plan a 2021 casino getaway in the current climate? Worry not, because 2022 is set to serve up some spectacular new openings, too. A mega resort and ‘airport city’ located next to Incheon airport, the Inspire Integrated Resort is proposed to comprise 300,000 metres of floor space, with a minimum 20,000 of those dedicated to gaming in the resort’s on-site casino. We’re expecting 1,500 slot machines, 250 gaming tables and over 18,500 square metres of dining and drinking options, with a Korean food village and Native American cultural arts centre as part of the intriguing plans.

As the Covid-19 vaccine roll-out continues, 2021 travel could soon be back on the cards – so if you’re yearning for the glamour and adrenaline of a real-life casino and could do with a relaxing holiday too, then look no further.
