Once upon a time, casinos were just a small part of a bigger weekend getaway, with gaming enthusiasts having to venture out of their hotels and resorts to find somewhere to play the slots. These days, however, it’s all change, and with a wealth of luxurious casino resorts now open around the world, casino lovers can combine their holidays with all the blackjack and roulette they want without having to set foot outside of the gates.
With such an enticing range of resorts to choose from across the globe, casino lovers are now taking their gaming more seriously than ever before, with many getting in as much practice as possible before they go to ensure they can compete with the big guns. While some become regular visitors to their local casinos before they go, many other people prefer just to do it online – but all of them have one thing in common, and that is that they play to win.
If the allure and opulence of the casino lifestyle has got you hooked, then you might want to know where you should be spending your hard-won cash this year – so we’ve rounded up five of the best new casino hotels and resorts you should be visiting so you can double your money.
MGM Springfield – Springfield, Massachussets
Due to open later this month, the MGM Springfield is a brand new, 850,000 square foot casino resort that cost a whopping $950 million to create. With 125,000 square feet of gaming space that will include 2,550 slot machines and 120 gaming tables, it’s the gambling enthusiast’s dream – and with 250 hotel rooms over 25 floors, as well as a huge pool, spa and roof-deck area, you’ll want to settle in here for the long-haul and enjoy an extended casino getaway.
There are a selection of restaurants and bars on site, as well as free live entertainment, a 10-lane bowling alley, a huge movie cinema and a range of boutique shops – giving you everything you could need for an enjoyable stay, all in one place.
Hard Rock Hotel & Casino – Atlantic City, New Jersey
The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Atlantic City opened its doors back in June of this year, and has been flooded with bookings ever since. Set in the former Trump Taj Mahal, it’s set on 17 acres of land, and with the legendary Atlantic City Boardwalk just a stone’s throw away, locations don’t get much better than this.
The complex offers an enormous 2,000 guest rooms in total, and plans to host 300 live shows in its first year. It’s a big place, with big plans – and we can’t wait to see how they pan out.
The rock-chic themed casino features 2,100 modern slot machines as well as 120 table games. Meanwhile, the entertainment zone regularly hosts a range of world-class musicians, and with 20 restaurants and bars to choose from – including a huge Hard Rock café which seats up to 416 guests, you’re guaranteed a lively atmosphere and an action-packed casino getaway.
Marina del Sol – Chillan, Chile
Due to open at the end of this year, the Marina del Sol will boast an opulent 5-star hotel featuring a range of modern amenities including an art gallery, artificial pond and a convention centre. The casino, meanwhile, will feature a vast selection of video slots, progressive jackpots and table games – though the details are currently being kept well under wraps.
With the casino set to open in just a few months and the rest of the complex in 2019, this one’s a bit of a slow burner – but it’s one to watch over the coming months, and we can’t wait to see the end result.
Jeju Shinhwa World Review, South Korea
Set on Jeju Island, just south of the Korean Peninsula in the South China Sea, Jeju Shinhwa is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the region. The huge resort, which spans over 2.5 million square metres, offers all-out luxury for guests, and the Somerset Jeju Shinhwa World hotel boasts 344 units of accommodation that come fully equipped with their own wine cellars, washing machines and more. With a range of Asian restaurants on site and a fitness centre, swimming pools and more, there’s lots to keep you entertained – and, surrounded by the area’s beautiful Gotiwal Forest, the location is pretty perfect, too.
Of course, The Landing Casino is the resort’s biggest draw for gaming enthusiasts, and certainly doesn’t disappoint. Located within the Jeju Shinhwa World Marriott Resort, it’s the largest on the island, and offers a selection of slot machines, table games and more – plus a dedicated ‘Poker Club’, which features 8 poker tables for Texas Hold’em.
Banyan Tree Lang Co Resort Casino, Vietnam
Although we’re still waiting for official news on this one, Hard Rock is reported to be working with Banyan Tree to develop a brand-new casino in Vietnam – and, set to be worth an eye-watering $2 billion, it’s certain to be worth a visit.
With Hard Rock tipped to contribute $100 million towards gaming and entertainment, this is likely to become one of the most renowned casino resorts in the world if it comes to fruition, and with accommodation likely to include hill villas overlooking the East Sea, guests will be able to rely on a truly luxurious stay.
