‘The First Roma Dolce’, a new patisserie-themed boutique hotel on Via del Corso, has opened its doors to the public. Dolce is the newest addition to ‘The First Experience’, which joins three distinctly unique hotels together and emboldens guests to experience the city as true locals.
Housed within a 19th-Century palazzo designed by neoclassical architect Giuseppe Valadier, who is renowned for his elliptical layout of Piazza del Popolo, the 23 suites and guestrooms combine the city’s architectural heritage with state-of-the-art modernity. With interiors by Studio Marincola, the contemporary design, spacious suites, and in-room amenities such as a personal fitness area, encourage guests to feel as though they are residents of the city during a stay, providing a real ‘home-away-from-home’ in the Italian capital.
From homemade pastries on arrival, to ‘VELO’, the innovative patisserie-style restaurant, The First Roma Dolce celebrates the Roman passion for pastry. The new opening is also the only hotel in the city serving a traditional English afternoon tea with an Italian twist.
“We are delighted to be expanding ‘The First Experience’ with the opening of The First Roma Dolce this spring,” said General Manager Daniele Carta. “With the opening of the new hotel, we are bringing a completely unique concept to Rome, celebrating the Italian ‘arte della pasticceria’ (art of pastry) in unexpected ways. Our collaboration with esteemed pastry chefs will undoubtedly bring a flair of creativity to the hotel’s gastronomy – which is what we hope The First Roma Dolce will become renowned for. We are looking forward to welcoming guests to experience Rome as locals, from one of the most sought-after addresses in the city.”
The ‘First Experience’ embraces a modern version of ‘La Dolce Vita’, which unfolds through the lens of contemporary art and design, and creative gastronomy. Dolce’s privileged location in the heart of the city allows guests to explore a series of exclusive experiences both within and outside of the hotel. Food-lovers can visit the market and spend the morning picking fresh ingredients, followed by a hands-on masterclass in making traditional Italian dishes in the kitchen of a local Italian family, whilst romantics and honeymooners might prefer a private prosecco aperitivo overlooking the Trevi Fountain.
Located a short distance away from sister hotel, The First Roma Arte, guests staying at Dolce will be able to make the most of the facilities at both hotels, including the Michelin-Star restaurant Acquolina and the newly redesigned panoramic roof-terrace at Arte. For an extra touch of indulgence, guests can also take advantage of the complimentary chauffer service between the two hotels in a Rolls-Royce. The ‘home-away-from-home’ concept threads the two properties together, with guests inspired to experience the unique offerings of each hotel for a deeper immersion into Roman culture.
A third hotel, opening in late 2019, will complete the ‘First Experience’. As part of the Pavilions Hotels and Resorts, The First Roma Dolce is affiliated to Preferred Hotels and Resorts’ L.V.X collection.
Rooms start from €350 per night.
