London
London has long been a city on many backpackers’ and wanderlust seekers’ lists, because it is so rich in history and is home to some of the world’s most famous football clubs and sports venues. With famous stadiums including the Emirates, Wembley and so on, the main football teams that play locally here include big hitters such as Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham and West Ham – so if you’re looking for a sports-themed getaway a little closer to home, then this home soil option is a top pick.
This summer, London is hosting several of the Euro 2020 championship games and so despite ongoing social distancing restrictions, you can expect a vibrant atmosphere if visiting this summer. Tokyo
There is nowhere quite like Tokyo – a busy and buzzing city that offers a mish-mash of Japan’s unique culture and bright lights, with great food and karaoke all part of this exciting and enticing package.

Calling all cricket fans to Melbourne! This sporting hotspot is known for playing host to the ICC World Cup, and with its perpetual sunny weather and a laid-back way of life, it’s the perfect place to take a relaxed break once borders finally reopen.
As a country, Australia has long been recognised for its impressive cricketing capabilities, but that’s certainly not the only sport it is known for. Berlin
Berlin might not enjoy the same amount of sunshine that some nations do, but it’s still an iconic sporting destination that ticks plenty of boxes.
