Music Festivals

June kicks off the start of many music festivals in the capital. The Mighty Hoopla is one of the best in terms of pop music and this year marks it’s third anniversary. This year is set to see Chaka Khan headline the event, and it’s due to be held at the Brixton Brockwell Park on June 8th. Just some of the acts lines up this year include Jamelia, All Saints, Liberty X and Bananarama.

Trooping the Colour

If you’re an avid Royal Family fan, you’re not going to want to miss the legendary Trooping of the Colour parade. Taking place on June 8th, this renowned parade is held in honour of the Queens birthday. However, you’ll need to view the parade from the Mall or watch it via TV in a nearby bar as in order to get a ticket, entries needed to be made into an online ballot by the end of February.

Masterpiece London

Love indulging in luxury art? The Masterpiece London is one of the most renowned international art festivals, and this year it’s being held at the Royal Hospital Chelsea. As well as being able to view some of the most exquisite pieces of art, you’ll also be able to buy some pieces, as well as take part in numerous events. The festival is being held from June 27th to July 3rd.

West End LIVE

Get excited for this year’s West End Live event, taking place from June 22nd to June 23rd in Trafalgar Square. It’s totally free, which does mean the event gets pretty packed on the day. So, if you want to get a good spot, you’ll want to make sure you get there early. You’ll get a taster of some of the best musicals on the West End, with last years event offering the likes of Aladdin, The Phantom of the Opera and The Lion King.

Open Gardens Squares Weekend

From the 8th to the 9th of June, the Open Gardens Square Weekend event gives you a glimpse into some of the most beautiful private gardens in the capital. There are over 100 different gardens to choose from, all of which will only be open to the public for this one weekend. Many of the gardens also have food and drinks stalls, along with numerous events to participate in.
