Building on its growing sports legacy, the destination will host Super Bowl LVIII in February, marking a milestone for the nation’s most-watched sporting event.

Las Vegas’ culinary scene is also expanding, with enticing new restaurants and food events taking place, and following the much-anticipated opening of Fontainebleau in December 2023 and the announcement of Virgin Atlantic’s new direct flight from Manchester, Las Vegas could not be better prepared to welcome visitors in 2024.

Virgin Atlantic is expanding its Las Vegas service with a new direct route from Manchester Airport starting in June 2024. The new service will operate three flights a week and will be the first airport in the UK outside of London to fly to America’s West coast since the pandemic. Flights are available to book and start from £770 per person in economy.

In June 2024, Las Vegas will celebrate dining excellence from around the world, as the 2024 host city for The World’s 50 Best Restaurants awards. The epicurean celebration will take place over the course of five days at several of the world-class hotels throughout the destination such as Wynn Las Vegas, Resorts World Las Vegas and The Venetian Resort Las Vegas.

Key events will include #50BestTalks, a thought-leadership forum exploring topics pertinent to the hospitality world; the 50 Best Signature Sessions, a series featuring 50 best chefs cooking alongside local talent; a Chefs’ Feast, showcasing the fine cooking and exciting entertainment of Las Vegas; and a 50 Best educational event, bringing together renowned chefs and local culinary students.

Fontainebleau takes luxury in Las Vegas to a whole new level

Having opened its doors on 13 December 2023, the long-awaited Fontainebleau Las Vegas is the newest addition to the destination’s famous skyline. The unmissable blue exterior houses more than 3,600 opulent rooms, a sprawling casino floor, vibrant nightlife and an exceptional restaurant collection with innovative dining options such as Ito, which offers an intimate 12-seat omakase experience. Omakase, which means ‘leave to someone else’ in Japanese, lets customers leave their menu choices to the chef’s discretion, allowing them to fully immerse themselves in the experience as they indulge in the highest quality sushi.

Combining world-wide influences with opulent flair, there are a whole host of newly opened, lavish and elevated restaurants to try in Las Vegas this year. Having opened in summer 2023, Cathédrale, inside Aria Resort and Casino, captivates guests with its delicious and extravagant dishes such as the 46 oz wagyu tomahawk steak or marine lobster rigatoni. LPM Restaurant and Bar, which opened in November 2023 inside The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, transports guests to the carefree French Riviera, and recently earned acclaim on the World’s 50 Best Restaurants list for exquisite, Mediterranean-inspired cuisine made with seasonal ingredients. 

Stanton Social Prime brings chef Chris Santos’ signature shareable dishes to the Strip inside Caesars Palace, with the return of the famous French onion soup dumplings topped with Gruyere cheese and garlic croutons, as well as pierogies made with potato, goat cheese and truffle. This delectable restaurant also includes some of Santos’ newest creations such as the smoked butter board with thumbelina crudités, Maldon sea salt flakes and sourdough demi baguette.
