Travellers head to Nevada’s thriving city of Las Vegas to escape, indulge and, hopefully, even come away a little richer after a session at the casino gaming tables, and what the plush resorts of this glitzy location succeed in is being able to offer their visitors the getaway they so desire.

From pool parties to casino nights, big name shows to fine dining restaurants, boutique shopping to suites so stunning that you’ll never want to leave them, and so many more ways to spend your time, these resorts have perfected the art of a true escape. To further solidify their reputation as the places where the word ‘escape’ means exactly what it’s supposed to, the resorts seek out ways to transport their guests to far flung locations, whether that’s the streets of Paris, New York or Venice or the shores of a Polynesian paradise.

One such luxury hotel that offers guests an elegant escape, alongside some pretty exceptional entertainment options too, is Mandalay Bay, a 43-storey luxury resort located right on the Las Vegas Strip. Tropically themed with a selection of pools, palms and brightly coloured sunbeds, the outdoor space at Mandalay Bay is set to transport its guests to more tropical climes. And the stylish suites continue with the cool, beachy theme within their sanctuary inspired décor.

Though it has some fairly stiff competition from its rival resorts, this four-star haven has so much to offer, especially in terms of its recreational activities and suites, and below we’re going to look at exactly what guests can get up to during a stay here.

A casino like no other

One of the main reasons that Las Vegas is the entertainment hub of the U.S. is its casinos – the place where it all began. Most of the main resorts boast an impressive casino on their premises and Mandalay Bay is no different, so we spoke to those in the know at Dr.Bet and got the lowdown on why this offering is always worth a visit on a trip to Las Vegas.

They said: “With its ornate décor and spacious interior, the casino at Mandalay Bay offers everything you’d want from a luxurious casino – there are over 1,200 slot and video poker machines, many ways to take part in the action on the poker tables, and plenty of other table games with favourites such as blackjack, craps and roulette available too. Not forgetting the world-famous Mandalay Bay sportsbook, where bettors go to play and watch all the action.” it sounds good to us.

A world-famous aquatic playground

In the resort’s own words, this is a ‘world-famous aquatic playground’ but what does that entail exactly? Well, for starters, there’s quite selection of cabanas, bungalows and gazebos to luxuriate in on the 11-acre beach area, with the 168sqft beach bungalows complete with fridge, loungers, table and chairs, 46-inch TV and more providing the utmost in sophistication. For fun, there’s a lazy river, lagoon, wave pool, the DAYLIGHT Beach Club, Moorea Beach Club, pool parties, three bars and the Beach Bar and Grill for food.

Endless entertainment

When you need a break from the fun at the casino and by the pool, you’re in the right place at Mandalay Bay to soak up some culture and be wowed. Currently the show of the moment is Michael Jackson ONE by Cirque du Soleil, and other acts have performed here, such as Katy Perry, while UFC fights, and the Latin GRAMMY Awards have been held here at the 12,00-seat Michelob ULTRA Arena. Head to the House of Blue Music Hall for a more intimate music venue and don’t miss out on the Shark Reef Aquarium where you can try to spot as many of the 2,000 species that are housed there as possible, from endangered green sea turtles to a Komodo dragon.

Spectacular suites

It wouldn’t be a proper Vegas hotel without a range of super suites to choose from to luxuriate in after an action-packed day, and night, and the selection of suites to choose from here is really quite impressive. Decked out with plush and stylish amenities, guests will find contemporary and sophisticated décor alongside elegant and exclusive features that offer the perfect escape. Floor to ceiling windows, arty wall murals, huge beds and a cool colour palette are in abundance, and for the ultimate experience the super plush Orchid Suite and Presidential three-bed and four-bed suites certainly rival some of the finest on the Strip.
